We have run it both ways, we prefer MCC on its own. GAIA + ASR_AI makes the AI much more defensive, it usually stops the macro from working properly from MCC and produces much more static firefights. We use a custom mod to set the AI skill as this is one of the primary functions of ASR_AI people use. Fortified isn't fantastic as they just stay static in the building and they don't enter buildings on defensive/aggressive. MCC GAIA is a really great AI system for macro behaviour and the micro behaviour it does is solid enough with its obvious glaring weakness being buildings.

In addition they double up on smoke so you see a lot of it. The first is that ASR_AI calls for help from other AI units and in combat units will stick to cover and that will stop all the units from moving, so when MCC sets a flanking waypoint route the troops wont follow it as they are in combat. The good thing is that the AI take cover better and they tend to stick to it more. There are other elements to the AI such as throwing smoke when units are hurt or killed and they use flares when its dark to see.ĪSR_AI combined with MCC introduces some good effects but also some bad ones as well. GAIA is a macro AI, that sets the waypoints you see from the units placed based on their aggressive/defensive/fortified setting and the zones you placed. We have used GAIA extensively for years and we have used ASR_AI.
